The Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) is pleased to announce the creation of a new Working Group on the Political Economy of Europe, and would like to invite all interested young researchers in the fields of economics and political science to take part in the Working Group’s Inception Meeting.
The Inception Meeting will be held in Brussels, at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) premises, on February 27-28, 2016. Up to 20 selected participants will receive funding covering accommodation and participation in the CEPS IdeasLab program, which takes place on February 25-26.
The program of the Inception Meeting will include discussions with professors Servaas Storm, Marcella Corsi, Thomas Ferguson and Orsola Costantini, as well as presentations held by the Working Group members and organizational meetings aiming to define the scope for the Working Group.
The aim of the newly established YSI’s Working Group on Europe’s Political Economy is to develop and discuss innovative ideas concerning the fundamental economic and political issues faced by the European countries today. The Working Group is initially established for a duration of two years and will aim to produce clear outputs in term of research and policy recommendations.
Applications to take part to the inception meeting can be submitted here. A Curriculum Vitae, a short research summary and a brief statement of intents concerning the participation in the Working Group, by January 31. Selected candidates will be notified by February 10. Candidates which have not been selected for funding in the inception meeting, but are keen to take part to the Working Group activities, are welcome to join freely in all the Working Group activities.
