The YSI Keynesian Economics Working Group is co-hosting a PhD seminar at the Nordic Post-Keynesian Conference entitled "Economics at the Edge".

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The aim of the conference is to bring together diverse perspectives on economic research, policy and theory. As the name suggests, the conference has a Post-Keynesian tradition, however, we welcome contributions from all paradigms and schools of thought. We strongly believe that it is only through a pluralist approach of challenging each of our predisposed perspectives in a constructive manner that we can develop sound, reliable and practicable understanding of the economic challenges we face.

The theme for this year’s conference is Economics at the Edge, and focuses on 1) Theoretical alternatives and ideas for economic policy, 2) SFC and other new approaches to modelling, and 3) Pluralism in economics teaching. Aalborg University employs problem-based learning teaching methods, where pluralism is an integral part of the economic curricular. As such, the conference theme is very close to home for us.

The keynote speakers confirmed for the 2017 conference thus far are:

Prof. Peter Skott, University of Massachusetts Amherst and Aalborg University

Prof. Dr. Eckhard Hein, Berlin School of Economics and Law

Prof. Jesper Jespersen, Roskilde Universitet and Aalborg University Prof. Malcolm Sawyer, Leeds University Business School

Dr. Stephen Kinsella, Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick

Prof. Sheila Dow, Stirling University Prof. Warren Mosler, University of Bergamo
